Hello everyone.

My next-door neighbour's wife, has just died.

She had been suffering from some form of slow intestinal cancer and passed away ssuddenly, but blessedly without pain, on Thursday. Apparently it has come about that she requested a woodland burial in a wicker coffin just before the end and her husband was not prepared for that decision.

He and his family have looked at some of the immediately local places to us (we are in Coventry) but they are not happy to lay her to rest there.

My partner and I have agreed to try and help and if anyone has any links, contacts or useful information that could aid us, it would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

Try the life rites website. They have all sorts of info. The link below should take you straight to the woodland burial page

Sorry to refer to another forum, but there was a similar discussion at SignPagan recently. Found some awesome natural coffins - feather lined and very shapely. They have a stall selling them in Cardiff every now and then.

Sorry its been a while since I posted again. But just to thank everyone for their information. In the end, my neighbour "compromised" by getting the wicker coffin and then having his wife cremated in it as he couldn't find anywhere close enough to him that he felt comfortable letting her rest. He then scattered the ashes somewhere else.
