Do not go gentle into that good night
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Dylan Thomas
This is the best known one. Can I ask please, whose funeral? I shall try and lookout something appropriate.

A Hopi Prayer by Mary E. Frye (slightly changed)
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there.I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet white doves in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there,I did not die.

The Unknown Shore
Sometime at Eve when the tide is low
I shall slip my moorings and sail away
With no response to a friendly hail
In the silent hush of the twilight pale
When the night stoops down to embrace the day
And the voices call in the water's flow
Sometime at Eve When the water is low
I shall slip my moorings and sail away.
Through purple shadows
That darkly trail o'er the ebbing tide
And the Unknown Sea,
And a ripple of waters' to tell the tale
Of a lonely voyager sailing away
To mystic isles
Where at anchor lay
The craft of those who had sailed before
O'er the Unknown Sea
To the Unknown Shore
A few who watched me sail away
Will miss my craft from the busy bay
Some friendly barques were anchored near
Some loving souls my heart held dear
In silent sorrow will drop a tear
But I shall have peacefully furled my sail
In mooring sheltered from the storm and gale
And greeted friends who had sailed before
O'er the Unknown Sea
To the Unknown Shore

Firstly, may I offer my condolences to you for your loss. This is an extract of a document I pulled together for those who have to plan the funeral or burial of a loved one. I don't know who wrote some of the poems, so I cannot give full credit to the authors.
QUOTE
Death is nothing at all...
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I, and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way you always used.
Put no difference into your tone
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was
Let it be spoken without effort,
without the ghost of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was;
there is absolutely unbroken continuity....
Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you for an interval,
Somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well
QUOTE
The Blessings of the Family and the Ancestors be upon (name)
We send our love to you as you now journey where we cannot yet follow
Speak kindly of us to those who you will meet upon your way
Wait for us in the most blessed Summerlands
Rest and recuperate, ready for the time when we shall all be born anew,
And meet and remember and love one another again.
Blessed Be.
QUOTE
You have been called from the place of your dwelling
May blessed soul friends guide you
May helping spirits lead you
May the Gatherer of Souls call you
May the homeward path rise up under your feet
And lead you gladly home.
QUOTE
Deep peace of the running wave to you.
Deep peace of the flowing air to you.
Deep peace of the quiet earth to you.
Deep peace of the shining stars to you.
Deep peace of the infinite peace to you.
QUOTE
Time is too slow for those who wait,
Too swift for those who fear,
Too long for those who grieve,
Too short for those who rejoice,
But for those who love, time is eternity.
QUOTE
In the rising of the sun
and in its going down
We remember him
In the blowing of the wind
and in the chill of winter
We remember him
In the opening of buds
and in the warmth of summer
we remember him
In the rustling of leaves
and in the beauty of the autumn
We remember him
In the beginning of the year
and when it ends
We remember him.
(Jewish Reform Prayer Book)
QUOTE
Life and death are one, as the river and the sea are one. For what isit to die but to stand naked in the wind, And to melt in the sun? What is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from it's restless tides That it may rise, and expand, and seek it's Gods unencumbered?
Only when you drink from the river of silence
Shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountaintop,
Then shall you begin to climb.
And when the Earth has claimed your limbs, then shall you truly dance.
(Kahlil Gibran)
QUOTE
There is a law that cannot be broken. The law says energy cannot be created or destroyed. There is no death, but the changing from one energy form to another. There is no part of us that is not of the land. It is this land that gives us life and when we die we return to the land, and once more become a part of it. [name] is not gone, they are here in the rustle of the grass when the breeze blows through it, in the roar of the thunder, and in the tickling rain. In the glory of the sunset, and the beauty of the moonbeams, [name]is now in all these things. And most importantly [name]lives on in the memories you hold dear in your heart.
(Rhiannon Biddulph)
I hope that these frail words will offer you some comfort in your time of grief.

This one is called Togetherness and was written by Canon Henry Scott-Holland. It's the poem that's generally used on my dad's side of the family - probably because they're a bunch of crazy spiritualists and it's pretty spiritualist in outlook.

Sorry for your loss. The poem I'm posting is from the POV od someone who hsa died, but the words, are special.
Farewell my friends
It was beautiful
As long as it lasted
The journey of my life
I have no regrets
Whatsoever save
The pain I’ll leave behind
Those dear hearts
Who love and care
And the heavy with sleep
Ever moist eyes
The smile in spite of a
Lump in the throat
And the strings pulling
At the heart and soul
The strong arms
That held me up
When my own strength
Let me down
Each morsel that I was
Fed with was full of love
At every turning of my life
I came across
Good friends
Friends who stood by me
Even when the time raced me by.
Farewell
Farewell
My friends
I smile and
Bid you goodbye
No, shed no tears
For I need them not
All I need is your smile
If you feel sad
Do think of me
For that’s what it's like
When you live in the hearts
Of those you love
Remember then…
You never die.

Remember
REMEMBER me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go, yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad

aj, so sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I pray you would know the comforting embrace of the gods and godesses at this time.
A bit morbid but one I love that helped me grieve my daughter.
Funeral Blues
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He is Dead.
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now; put out every one,
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun,
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

First, I add my condolences to the others, my thoughts are with you at this time. When I read your request I thought of this poem, from the novel "The Smoke Jumper" by Nicholas Evans:
If I be the first of us to die,
Let grief not blacken long your sky.
Be bold yet modest in your grieving.
There is a change but not a leaving.
For just as death is part of life,
The dead live on forever in the living.
And all the gathered riches of our journey,
The moments shared, the mysteries explored,
The steady layering of intimacy stored,
The things that made us laugh or weep or sing,
The joy of sunlit snow or first unfurling of the spring,
The wordless language of look and touch,
The knowing,
Each giving and each taking,
These are not flowers that fade,
Nor trees that fall and crumble,
Nor are they stone,
For even stone cannot the wind and rain withstand
And mighty mountain peaks in time reduce to sand.
What we were, we are.
What we had, we have.
A conjoined past imperishably present.
So when you walk the wood where once we walked together
And scan in vain the dappled bank beside you for my shadow,
Or pause where we always did upon the hill to gaze across the land,
And spotting something, reach by habit for my hand,
And finding none, feel sorrow start to steal upon you,
Be still.
Close your eyes.
Breathe.
Listen for my footfall in your heart.
I am not gone but merely walk within you.

This poem was read at my dad's funeral on tuesday. It's translated from italian.
To My Friends
Dear friends, and here I say friends
In the broad sense of the word:
Wife, sister, associates, relatives,
Schoolmates of both sexes,
People seen only once
Or frequented all my life;
Provided that between us, for at least a moment,
A line has been stretched,
A well-defined bond.
I speak for you, companions of a crowded
Road, not without its difficulties,
And for you too, who have lost
Soul, courage, the desire to live;
Or no one, or someone, or perhaps only one person, or you
Who are reading me: remember the time
Before the wax hardened,
When everyone was like a seal.
Each of us bears the imprint
Of a friend met along the way;
In each the trace of each.
For good or evil
In wisdom or in folly
Everyone stamped by everyone.
Now that the time crowds in
And the undertakings are finished,
To all of you the humble wish
That autumn will be long and mild.
