As an ex fundi xian I was always warned off horoscopes - they were the devil's work. What do people think about them - have picked up some cynicism on other threads. Are they used, useful?

What do you all think?

Well, I have yet to read a western "horrorscope" that doesn't try to feed me a load of contrary bollox, but the Chinese one's certainly have been spot on. biggrin.gif

Always reminds me of that demented hag "Septic Peg" of Daily Record fame! Or else that awesomely dreadful gay chappie, wobbly, nauseatingly profound, earnest, passionate about celestial conjunctions between the Heavenly Twins and Uranus.
You know - THAT one! dry.gif

if done personally very good, if done just on sunsign in mags/newspapers etc then absolute rubbish
personal ones take into account all planets and are done for individuals so are alot better than today all geminis are going to find true love etc etc

Strange though I had personal ones done in all manner of charts right down to the minute and place of birth, latitude/longitude of my entire track across the globe, and they were even worse contrary bollox...but then I have such an accurate "early warning" system, I don't need to rely on people who get their psychic impressions purely from the smell of money! laugh.gif

I've never read an accurate horoscope yet, although I certainly wouldn't call them the devils work wink.gif I had my chart done once by a "professional" thankfully he was a friend so I didn't have to pay becuase it was no more accurate than the horoscopes in, say, The Sun. So I don't set a lot of store by them.

the thing with the daily horoscopes in newspapers are that they are just there to fill column inches. I would recommend reading each and every predicition for that particular day, and go with the one that sounds best to you, ie if aries says you're going to have a good day, then choose to be an aries for the day and enjoy yourself; if your particular birthsign "prediction" doesnt suit, then pick one that does

Bright blessings from TTT who's decided to be sagittarius today

a few months ago I got my chart done by someone on the internet, and it was a load of contrary bollox. It was clear that it had just been put into a computer and they'd sent me what had come out (it was pretty cheap, so I think that's understandable). I also even more recently had my friend do my chart (which she gave to me scrawled in biro on the back of a scrap of paper from her work), and she talked me through it, explaining how different things relate to each other, and explaining the contradictions. We are all very contradictory after all smile.gif . For example, she said that I have a strong desire to be liked by people and to be part of a group, but at the same time I really try to assert my own individuality and independance. This does seem contradictory, but it's pretty much bang on for me.

Im very sceptical about western horoscopes! but I do think we are effected by the movements of the planets!

Well, I dunno!

My horoscope in the Dundee Courier last week said that I was going to meet a lot of people who were important to me before the end of the week - and that was just before Saturday's moot in Stirling!

smile.gif

What I really couldn't understand was that presumably 1/12 of the population was also going to meet people who were important to them before the end of the week.
