Queenies discussion led me to think about doing this poll.

I chose "don't knowingly work with deities". Although that's not quite right. I believe in deities/something but I haven't done workings as such.
I just like being awkward

You should have had a 'sometimes' option.
I don't involve the Gods in everything I do. Sometimes I just work with the Wights or the Disir, or other ancestors or even the elements. Depends if I've got my 'Witch head' on or my 'Heathen head'.

I am merely a channel of the myriad of dreams that aspire physical form. Realization is just a matter of being in the right place at the right time.

Occasionally yes, though not all the time. These days I don't do much of any sort of working for a couple of reasons.

I don't knowingly, as I rely more on the symbolism of what thing represent rather than the "who's" behind them.
e.g. Erzulie's heart or pierced heart rather than Erzulie herself?
I don't think I'm making any sense?

ok I'll shut up now..

This (like so many things pagan) is different and complex and often unique to each person.
I checked the 'works with more than one Diety'. While this is broardly true, I don't just pick and mix and I stick to specific panthanons (I don't do Egypt for example). There are definitly three Divine 'forms' I assosiate with more than any other, and a couple of others that are part of my life. I do not have specific names for the Divine that I call on / believe in... it is more God/dess archotypes (sp). For example a home-maker Goddess, she is a mother figure, a cook, carer, but also a fierce defender of home / home life, in ways not unlike Athena.
Nor do I call on them in all my workings... in fact more often than not, I do not involve them at all in my magic working. But they are important in my spiritual life and I make regular honour filled observance of them. (In my mind it is better to get to know, respect Gods... in part so that when you do need them they are more inclined to be on your side)

Depends what you mean by a deity...

Had to click "don't knowingly work with deities".
1) whats a deity then?

A forum in itself!
2) I don't feel attached to any specific deity just aspects of nature and so whatever takes my mood.

Me, too paganboy - yeah - what is a diety - good question. I suppose I would venture to say that I mean god/goddess. I got stuck on whether to add spirits and other things like fairies, wights etc. Do some consider these dieties - cos I don't know.
I don't work with dieties (knowingly) but then I do acknowledge nature (could that count as a diety?)

Could I just ask - is a diety a god who is loosing weight?

It all depends what I am doing. Sometimes I work with nothing except my own intent and energy. but when I do work with Deities I tend to work with whatever Aesir or Vanir I think most likely to help.

I used to work without them, but now I always work with them. Having said that, I don't work all that often.

I ticked work with more than one, because that's strictly correct. However, I find that the older I get the less I work - possibly because I've become more concious of the possible consequences and therefore I'm a lot more cautious.

Not trying to be intrusive - I am just curious - but what sort of things might someone ask a diety for help with (I realise help might not be the right word here).
I ticked don't knowingly work with a diety. When I work with 'nature' (for want of a better name - I haven't worked that one out yet) I try to just open up and just interact. sometimes I ask for protection and sometimes I get weird dreams (like the one of the dragon a few weeks ago)

I work with many dieties but there are times when I'm not sure who to ask for assistance so I ask for anyone out there to help me wheather they be a spirit, ancestor, small folk, animal or element doesn't really matter.

yeah, I know what you mean - I never know what's going to happen - not until its happened. It took me ages to work out why I was dreaming of dragons. And I am still not sure whether I've understood it all. it seems that I was being given energy to do a walk that even I didn't know I was going to do.

(good day too).

As I have already mentioned I am a lazy pagan.
I dont often get off my backside and do much in a grand way but I do lots of little charms and bits and bobs and I pic the god/ess that most suits the situation.
Though I tend to call on two or three specificially or sometimes work with generic forms.
Not only am I lazy but Im inconsistant too!

If i need help i ask and pay homage to whoever happens to be passing and not busy so can help me out.
Whilst doing work lately i have noticed that lots of peeps from the roman pantheon are quite happy to pop in and help.
Even though what brouht me here was cheifly my interest in the celtic legends?/
