Hi
I registered here a while ago but I haven't done much posting as yet. I just wondered whether anyone here follows the goddess tradition. I am just starting out on the pagan path but have been looking into various different paths over the past year or so.
I don't really like performing a lot of rituals or spellcraft so I don't identify very much with Wicca but I am drawn to the goddess side of things. I have been trying to find something that feels 'right' to me if that makes any sense but the goddess tradition seems to be a very american concept, which again puts me off slightly. I don't want to be all airy fairy and have a special pagan name. Not that there is anything wrong with that but it just isn't me.
I have tried meditation and listening to my inner self and I know that the goddess is there. Does anyone else follow this path?

Of course She's there - and great you are connecting happily with this aspect of Paganism. But to concentrate solely on the Feminine would be out of balance, as you have already picked up intuitively! There is balance between male and female energy, and you are beginning to connect with this, so just keep exploring, and enjoying your magical journeying!

From a historical perspective, I suppose you could argue that there are plenty of examples of goddesses being served solely by women, and women serving only their goddess. Vesta, for example.

It's not for me though, I need balance and would feel out of kilter if I followed a solely female path. smile.gif

I am currenlty enjoying balance in experiencing Cernunnos and Brigid. Interesting that they are both woodland/wild place deities - really fits for me smile.gif

I am a goddess girl smile.gif..i dont feel out o balance, nor deprived through the lack o the male divine within my spirituality. There were many a priestess in the past devoted solely to their goddess.
Vesta one example given by Pomona an Isis had her priestess's too. The priestess o Isis were very influential, an me thinks still are smile.gif

I do of course recognise male entities...but i choose to devote myself to my goddess as her votary. I can count on two fingers when i saught out male deity in the past for workings, an both o them went tits up..lol

You aint that odd. I know lots like us. The goddess aint no fool, nor soft. She kicks arse. Its a blinding combination o Judgment, warrior, an knowing when to yield ( to get your way) wink.gif
The male in the animal world is all testosterone an muscle, the female is more in control, but deadly an truly a game animal. You watch a bitch protect her pups....there aint a male that would dare stand in her way, or he is dead meat.

I know plenty o women that have more balls than most men i know, an that aint a feminist point o view...just truth.

Although I recognise both male and female deities, I tend to find that most of my path is very goddess-centred. This happned naturally over the course of meditations and I am happy with it. If I felt out of balance I would certainly address it. To my mind the Goddess represents the manifest worlds, the God represents the active energy that underpins everything. I accept that way of looking at things wouldn't work for everyone, but it works for me.
