Fortunately or unfortunately these days the seeds are treated with a persistent rapid acting poison which means you can-t get enough of the seeds down you to have much effect before you start to vomit.

Well, they are treated with fungicide so any sane person would grow the seeds into a plant then harvest the seeds, no?
From a pagan perspective I think this is a good idea anyway as IMO you should form a relationship with the Plant spirit first and always approach it respectfully before taking. The time taken to achieve this due to the poison parcel is probably a good thing I think!

I am a quite concerned now!

My 18 year old son recently went to the Download Festival and tells me he sampled this 'Fly Agaric', it was came dried and was sold with a cerd claiming it was not for consumption but obviously he was told it was 'Magic Mushrooms' and how to prepare it. I have shown him these posts and hopefully he will be more cautious ( Though i want to beleive he will not 'dabble' again i am to old to be THAT naive)

Thanks for the info guys!

lilblu, I totally understand your fears and think your move to show him these posts was a great idea! It does sound as though the Fly Algaric he had bought had been prepared properly though, which is good, at least for the people who bought it and used it, as they wont be poisioned! Responsible Dealers! Theres a new one! smile.gif

Well another responsible web site biggrin.gif . I just loved the warning -
"Erowid's dosage information is a summary of data gathered from users, research, and other resources and should not be construed as recommendations. Individuals can respond differently to the same dosage. What is safe for one can be deadly for another." (...take 50 which is the standard dose. Oh deary me, you seem to be dead, oh dear well perhaps it was because you were too sensitive... sorry, but we did say biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif) sort of like giving a kid matches and a can of petrol and telling him not to use them biggrin.gif biggrin.gif . This site set me off on my day with a smile on my face.

Perhaps UKP could start to sell drugs in their shop, for magickal purposes only of course and only for serious experimentation. It would sure boost the site income.

Has anyone seen the film "Shrooms?" wink.gif

My son dabbled with various drugs at university including the one under discussion. 12 years later, he is still suffering a psychological disorder [OCD] as a result. What a stupid waste of a life !
