One for those who do rituals, do you make offerings to your deities, the spirits of the land, etc, if so what do they prefer?

When doing a ritual I make offerings to the wights, Alfar, ancestors and to the gods, thoe following is purely from personal experience, yours may well be very different.

Loki likes anything alcoholic or fun and/or sugary.

Freya likes chocolate and good quality red wine, a good Claret if she can get it.

Thor likes his real ale or good stout, he gets very grumpy if offered lager, he also likes meat.

Var likes fruit juice and honey cake.

The Alfar are mead monsters, expecially for Moniack

The ancestors vary depending on the time of year and place as do the wights.

I find (and this is personal findings) the ancestors up at Grimes graves like sweets and/or alcohol
Sol likes Mead and poetry
and wights like to see me scream (why else do they keep putting snakes in my way)

Wulfric
We've found that Thor rather likes red wine as well (quite a lot of it!). My ancestors are beer or mead mad. As long as it's not lager.
Fred-in-the-Green
They get incense and a libation of whatever is on offer.
Gryphon
I used to offer the alfs milk and poured it into the center of a ground hugging moss to hide it from the locals who'd be wierded out by it.

Not a good idea when the dog likes milk. It ate the plant sad.gif

Hmm... Odhin likes the cider or perry made by a particular farm in north Herefordshire - so that's on the cards for most people! tongue.gif

Though Loki has a penchant for alcohol, so far he's indicated to me (YMMV) he likes speyside whiskey, citron vodka, stealing drinks reserved for other gods and really silly drinks. I did once try to offer him some vanilla vodka and his reaction was "Do I look vanilla?"

I tried to offer some to Freya and she came up with pretty much the same line. Ho hum.
She likes me to offer her either sweet mead, Baileys or (preferably) a black russian made with a high proof vodka and Tia Maria.

Frey likes beer. Oddly, he tends to prefer me to offer Scottish beer in England and English beer in Scotland. He also enjoys white beers and raspberry beer.
He especially likes me to drink to him (along with any friends I'm with) before offering the rest to him - but I have to shake it first and let it explode outwards in froth. No, don't ask me about the symbolism... I'm sure you can figure that one out. laugh.gif rolleyes.gif

Tiw likes single cru XO brandy.

The housewight seems to be a kelpie and turns up her nose at chocolate and cream. She prefers apples and calvados or farm cider.

Wights get cake or muffins. Especially chocolate. I'd give them mead if I had any. smile.gif

Loki definitely likes M&M's the drink (one shot of blue Aftershock in a half pint glass and top up with cider) not the sweets, though he is partial to them as well, it's not just silly drinks he likes it's the one's that are lethal to the unwary or sometimes even the wary.

Loki wants a Lord Andy if I can remember the recipe, but I've told him he can pay for it, it's a highly alcoholic cocktail that will only fit in a pint glass and is very lethal as you don't realise that it's alcoholic from the taste.

Odin can be tricky, sometimes he likes Guinness and others red wine.

DO NOT give the Alfar caffiene, I made that mistake only the once at West Wycombe Hill, never again. wink.gif
