The kitchen of our house has a lean-to joined on for growing tomatoes etc, inside this lean-to my mother in law used to keep a paid of black mules for wearing around the garden. About a month ago, the right shoe disappeared....after hunting for it, we assumed it had been taken by an animal and thought nothing of it. My OH put a pair of his trainers out there instead which after a week, disappeared.... we assumed he had put them somewhere and forgotten where, so again, thought nothing of it, then last week the right shoe of my father in law's brown work shoes disappeared from the lean-to while he was in the garden, and 2 days ago my left Croc disappeared from inside the house.... I swear I'm not going crazy, so where on earth are all our shoes going? All our shoes are now locked up in the cupboard under the stairs to try to prevent firther disappearances...
My OH has size 12 feet so his trainers arent exactly light, unless it was a fox or a dog? But what do they want with our shoes?

Any ideas how I could make a start trying to find these?

Any ideas appreciated.....

Think of the last place you're ever likely to look and start there. That's always where I find stuff I've lost.

I'll get me coat.... tongue.gif

No luck there CB, they arent in the salad crisper in the fridge or in the loft.....

I've heard of the 'sock monster', but I've never heard of a 'shoe' monster wink.gif

This has never happened to me, but I remember (from posts),that some people just ask out loud for the missing object (s) to be brought back and some leave out a little treat/offering.

If that doesn't work, it was the tomatoes.

I'd go with leaving out an offering. You could try suggesting that you swop shoes for a pair you don't mind not having about in exchange for the return of the pairs you need!

Stop looking............the chances are it will turn up when you least expect it. smile.gif

Sounds like your shoes are on the other Shoe thread to me! smile.gif

Foxes seem to like shoes! My daughter left a new pair of school shoes in my Mum's garden and we found 1 of them chewed to shreds on the other side of the fence. I never leave any shoes outside now, as I cannot afford to keep foxes in chew toys!!

When I was doing the whole spiritualist thang, I was told if you lose anything you should petition St Anthony (or was that Andrew dry.gif ) Anyway I have a friend who swears it works.

Personally I lose things all the time, and they have been known to turn up in the strangest of places. Now whether that means we have house brownies or whatever you call them, or whether its because I'm forgetful and menopausal I dont know.

But considering I found a bottle of wine in my oven not long ago I have a sneaking suspicion it might be the latter rolleyes.gif

I find when things go missing it means either they dog has taken them as a toy, or i have put them in the fridge again.

Ask the house spirits and leave an offering (milk is good). IJ kept loosing his socks to the ones in my old flat

I have this image now of a brownie dressed entirely in odd socks, sewn together. biggrin.gif

Depends what you think has happened to the object really...

If you think some kind of house brownie has it then leave an offering.

If you think it is some kind of mischievious resident spirit that has moved it to mess with you then threaten to kick it out if it doesn't return/behave (I have had great success with this method in my parents' house - you kind of need to renew the threat occasionally though)

If you think it was just you being mental and losing it, try dowsing/pendulum dowsing for it.

Another way that you could try is also to close your eyes and mentally focus on the object and see where you can 'see' it.
