Anyone ever been possessed by a god? If so, what does it feel like, during and after? Did you invite the god/dess in, or did it 'just happen'?

I've never been possessed but I did inadvertently channel once, when I was asking for help with some magic work and I didn't have any tools with me or means to prepare. I was told what to do and, after, felt entirely drained. So much so I had to go and wash my hands and feet, then sit somewhere where I could plug back into to what I'd done to regain some of the energy still buzzing around. Even then, it took me hours before the energy returned. And one of the effects of the work was, er, a little unexpected for those who had asked for it.

I've also been used in a different way, in the middle of a working with one god, when he departed from what we'd sort of agreed I'd do and decided to add a little sex magic. Protests go unheeded.

Of course, your experience may be nothing to do with magic; I've heard of one person who was possessed by Odhin in a seidr working.

that's a shame RH, the topic, as a whole, sounds absolutely fascinating. Deity is (as an experience rather than a concept/idea) is something which I find very difficult to understand. However, I do respect your right to privacy.

Still not sure, if any of the experiences I've had fit neatly into the categories of 'possession' or 'channelling'.

It always feels strange working with anyone whose not one of my patrons. Perhaps that’s purely a case of I'm very comfortable with them and it all feels natural.

Loki once showed a little bit of interest and he felt inside of my head and tried gettting me to do something mischievous (to shove Mr Q out of bed) and I was going along unquestioningly, right until the last second. I just about stopped myself, and Loki found just playing with me hysterical.

Another memorable time, I was doing a working for someone else and I think a possible patron of hers just flew in and took over. That was Kali and the best way of describing it was that it felt totally alien; it was quick, hard, fast and incredibly focused. It felt like I was being worked through rather than with.

But in both cases, I don't know if you'd consider either of those possession or channelling?
