Hi, I have been given a 'recipe' for incense and I've been told it's a really powerful 'grounding and clearing' incense, which is ideal for me at the moment. The only problem is this; one of the ingredients listed is Benzoin and I haven't a clue where to get any and the lady who gave me the recipe has just informed me that the shop she got hers from has just gone out of business!! sad.gif Can anyone let me know where I can get some in the Wirral/Chester area or online, please, pretty please? Many Thanks in advance from Lainee xx

Mail order, rather than local, I know, but I've always had great success with Pan's Pantry - they do a simply amazing Frankincense.

Many, Many Thanks!! I have spent a long while reading and re-reading all of the wonderful things available on both of these websites. I will be spending lots and lots of money with them both very soon! Thanks once again, I really appreciate your help and the time you took to reply xxx

Totally agree - this is a site that provides the "promises". And NO bs.

I too can recommend Pans Pantry...
Very useful for re-enactment goodies too... 'Pete the Pong' the propritor is very knowledgeable and helpful, his wife is lovely too. If you get any delay in delivaries it is usually because they travel in person to source thier items in person from all across the middle and far east from small traders and farmers - so they can personnaly vouch for the quality!

I think that the owners of Pans Pantry should be awarded some form of honour for going to all that trouble, just to ensure that the quality of the goods they sell is 100%!! I do a flea market stall in the local market (doh!! it would be in the market, wouldn't it?!!) and I know how hard it is to bring top quality goods to the customer, so hats off to Pans pantry for going the extra hundred+ miles!! I'm looking forward to shopping with both of these companies, I'm writing a list, checking it twice,......sorry, too early in the year! rolleyes.gif

There are a couple of good ones i use regularly on ebay for good quality things affordably, one is Herbmoon Hollow and the other is HerbalHighMagick. I haven't tried pan's pantry but now feel i want to have a look there too.

My favourite offering incense:

Sandalwood chips
Frankincense resin
Myrrh Resin
Amber resin paste
Rose petals or a few drops of essential oil (or sometimes lotus oil)

Its the most amazing and beautiful pungent smell and the white smoke billows like fog from the cauldron filling up the house and senses smile.gif
