Would appreciate people's knowledge or experiences of hecate as i believe she's calling me and could do with some serious reading/information on her other than the usual crone/hag/three "faced" goddess stuff.

Cant quite express the thoughts I'm getting but do need some input on this

Thanks to all and BB from TTT

Potentially some useful stuff here smile.gif

She's not one of mine, but I do recall one devotee of hers telling me she came to him a bit like the Liz Hurley character in Bedazzled. If this rings any bells with you PM me - I'm sure he wouldn't mind my sharing his UPG about her.

As long as it doesn't get me on the wrong side of her. unsure.gif biggrin.gif

I know she wasn't originally a Greek goddess but was incorporated into the Greek pantheon at some later stage. I also know that she was a virgin goddess and not seen as a crone either. She had something to do with three-road crossroads and this may have been the original meaning behind the triple aspect. She was the goddess of wilderness.

Quasi gave an excellent link on that other thread. Pronounced "Hecht" she is dark, powerful, and as well as dogs, is associated with the toad.

She is called "Hecate of the crossroads" and IMO this has to do with her power to make us think very deeply about exactly what we want, where we are going, and what we do. She is not a gentle one!

I've had a hint or two from Hecate sometimes though she's been quiet to me for a while. She came at a time when some serious decisions had to be made (the crossroads thing). I think I've still got some files someone sent me. I'll se if I can dig them out if you're interested.

Thanks everyone. i shall certainly sit down quietly and go through everything slowly and thoroughly.

Please Badger, I would love to read the files if you could dig them out for me. I do feel that she is calling quite loudly, although I've not seen her and its more like a long distance phone call and it seems to be the mother to mother bit....

Really need to sit and read and think about this.

PS I think my dog has seen her (a black lab and i know she is associated with black dogs)

A few more bits of useful info. here. Not all is agreed on, but it's not a bad starting place (there is more than one page )

Seeing as Naimh hasn't popped up (she researched Hecate a year or 2 ago) I shall link to her work.

Who is Hecate?

Bloody hell is that link still working? I let that domain go at least a year ago!

Badgersmoon, not to be rude but it was me that sent you those doc's it might have been nice if you had asked before you passed them on as if iirc at least one of them was my own personal writing that I shared with you!

Teatimetreat, I have a 17 page workbook I created at the beginning of the year, which was given out to the students at a workshop I ran, I would be happy to share it with you on the strict understanding that it isn't put into the public domain as some of the exercises in there are to go into the book I am currently writing.

Hahaha well watch this space, as I registered TempleOfHekate.net a while back, and when I finally finish the book, I might have some time to actually do something with it and put out some decent stuff into the tinterweb as it is seriously lacking in my not so humble opinion.

The thing about writing stuff down is that you look at it in 2 years and think 'eeek, I missed out this, that, and all the other. What was I thinking?'

Compared to what I know about Hecate, it looks just fine.
