Aye but it was only instituted to give a Christian spin on the older celebrations that the church had been unsuccessful in stamping out.
It's also probably a lot more along the lines of what any Witches knocking about at that time would have called that time of year. And how handy too...the church will even let you know when it is!!!
It probably stands to reason that some groups that believe themselves to have older lineage (personally for me the jury is still out on that one) would use the term Hallowmass.
