What do i class myself as. Answers on a postcard please.
I know that my beliefs are earth based, that's an absolute fact.
I thought I was a Naturalistic Pagan after reading this website
And yet there are aspects I don't follow.
I aslo lean towards Hedgewitchery and again there are aspects in this that I don't adhere to. And the Celtic Path speaks to me also.
Basically I don't personally believe in deities. I don't worship any or work with any and any "ritual" I perform has nothing to do with honouring any, etc. And yet I will never disrespect anyone who does beleive in a god/dess, because that is thier belief and right.
I see the earth and nature as living entities with energy. I work with this energy alot. I draw upon it and use it. I feel at my most powerful when I am near the coast and especially in a rugged place like Cornwall or Scotland where the elements are really intense.
I don't regard nature in the feminine or masculine. I don't say things like "nature in all her[B] beauty..." I have a profound and deep respect and love for nature and the earth.
When I need to use something from nature, let's say a plant or some greenwood from a tree, then I will ask the tree/plant if I can take some. This is because the plant/tree is a living, breathing creature, with a lifeforce and an energy and should be treated and repected as such. it's the same as thinking that you wouldn't just cut off a lock of someones hair without asking would you? I also wait for a response from the plant/tree. I sit and wait in quite meditation and if I feel positive "vibes" I know that it's ok to take what I need, and like wise if I feel negative energy after my meditation I know that it's not ok to use. I do perform rituals though they are simple and usually only involve a simple thank you with an offering.
I feel strong conncetions to the earth and all it's creatures, plant, animal and mineral.
I use crystals and believe they have strong healing abitlities.
I listen to nature and I know when the birds are fighting off a predetor in the garden or fighting off each other for territory.
I can usually tell when it's going to rain. like my nan use to say "I can feel it in mi water" I also know when we are going to have a thunder storm.
I have a strong affinity with all things Celtic. I seem to have a love of the iron age and pre iron age time in history. Any time period BCE.
I once owned a book by Andy Baggot called Celtic Wisdom and this is where it all strarted for me. I have since lost that book, I know it's got to be in the house somewhere but can I hell-as-like find it? Without sounding corny it's like my bible. everything in it made so much sense and I refered to it often in my youth until it went missing. Then I found it again and it woke me up inside again. Then I lost it again a few months ago. when will I learn to put things back where they belong?
So what am I? Someone enlighten me.
A Pagan, A Celt, A Hedgewitch (on the path and in the making, not fully there yet).
Non of the above, all of the above.???????
I have never been part of a Pagan community and have found it difficult to talk about my "spirituality" with family and friends. I am a solitary person as a result and have always found it difficult to make friends.
