smile.gif Greetings. I'm new here to The Valley. I didn't see to much talk about dreams here. I'd love to start a little give and take here. I'll learn from all your posts and in return I'd be happy to help you understand your dreams better. I actually have a Dream Interpretation course I teach in another forum so if you'd like post a dream here and I'll help you out. smile.gif Purity

Ok, I had this dream ages ago, and it was soooooooo weird I've remembered it. Clearly, I was working to hard at the time, however I have no idea if the dream itself means anything - see what you make of it.

It is the work summer barbcue, they have leased a pool, or pools that are all linked together, and step down from each other, with water running like a waterfall from one pool to the next. All of a sudden this giant fish/eel creature appears and starts chasing one of the landscape architects through the various pools, wanting to mate with him! We are all stood around, or swimming around the edges of the pools laughing our butts off!

Just a weird dream, or does it mean anything?

Did you see The Creature from the Black Lagoon at an impressionable age Very? biggrin.gif wink.gif

Hi Clarity,
I don't know about anyone else but this is what I use my blog for. I record my dreams (when I remember enough of them) in there.
So far only one dream recorded.

blink.gif nearly every night for the past year my dreams always have sharks in them, what does this mean.....And not all the time are the sharks in the water. Some of my dreams they are floating in the sky. blink.gif

I keep a dreamjournal and have a great interest in dreams and what they have to tell us. They are, I believe, a direct link from subconscious, a window, bridge, tunnel, passage right down to the core. smile.gif
Looking forward to discussions!

LOL, nope don't think so, and I've nevernoticed a correlation between weird dreams and what I eat at night. lol

Oddly enough not long after thatdream his wife did announce she was pregnant...lol

i don't feel that other people can interprete your dreams. Many of the symbols used are personal to you. We all develope meanings, fears and joy from different things.

- I have read that wolves are evil and bad symbols in dreams, but i see them are intellegient, powerful and a symbol of freedom in the wild.
- Flying is seen as escapism and wanting to break out. I've always just wanted to fly. sad.gif

As Deerheart says they are a direct link to our subconsciou. is your subconscious like my subconscious?
DragonMaster
I agree in some respects with Nightcelt, that maybe only we can interpret our own dreams, because things don't always have the same meaning to everyone.

That is, unless there is a kind of subconscious memory that is passed down (like genetic memory) through generations, that links these things together the way our ancestors did, i.e. water linking to emotions, flying linking to a feeling of wanting to escape, etc.

I got fed up with Freud's views on things quite a while ago. I definantly don't think that every dream has some sexual implications. Our lives and livelihoods don't, (or maybe shouldn't... who can say? o_perv.gif ) revolve around sex, so why should every dream from the subconscious connect to sex? The subconscious contains all our memories and feelings, so why when they surface in dreams should they always be about sex? It has no foundations in logic.

Looking forward to some interesting interpretations here biggrin.gif

For the record, I'd like to post a dream I had last night.

I dreamt I was going to get on a boat to see a play with some of my friends. The strange thing was, though, that I was going to the dock via a partially closed in waterway, floating on a piece of wood that was travellling fast upriver. It was beautiful, we passed an orange tree and some of my friends got off the river to see it, it was sunny and warm. When I got to the dock, I didn't see the boat, but my friends were there and smiling. I remember worrying that maybe they wouldn't let me on the boat. Then I woke up.

Well since Purity doesn't seem to be answering anything I shall give it a go.

One can maybe analize a dream but it's is difficult to interpret dreams for others as symbols and the abstractions of a lot of dreams are uniqe to the individual.

Silver, It may be that something is really bothering you, perhaps it's something that is in the back of your mind. Since the Shark is a preditor with big teeth, it could represent feelings of anger or hostility. Perhaps you see someone or something as a threat. The fact that you also see sharks in the sky could indicate that this situation is surrounding you maybe to the point of being overwhelmed. Go back to the time you started having this dream and see if there was an incident or someone that angered you enough to continue to have these dreams.

Dragan: Your dreams sounds generally peaceful and may indicate that you enjoy your friends a great deal. You may however have a little mistrust in that you wondered for a moment if they would allow you back on the boat.

Very: I would like to know how you feel about the guy being chased? Maybe he is someone you would like to see embarrassed. Sometimes it's like your subconscious takes a break and puts on a comedy. laugh.gif

hello Purity, firstly interested what kind of dream analasys technique you use (if you're using a well known one that is) hopefully not fruedian blink.gif

anyways... my dream... its very very vivid and have had it recurring for bout 2 weeks now.

im in some woods, its cold and raining, and the rain is getting worse, there's thunder and lightening and thick black clouds. i start running to find some shelter, cant run very fast cos its so dark i can barely make out the trees, ive got my arms stretched out to try to semi feel my way through the trees. there are thorns cutting my arms and face as i go but i cant see any, i keep going and see a big rock, bout garage size when the lightening strikes, it has a large hole in the front and is hollow, i make my way to it and go inside alowly thinking their might be bears or other animals in it, but its totally empty. i sit down and when the lightening strikes i can see its a huge space, like the tardis. its still cold. its out of the rain but still feels very damp. all i can taste is blood and i just sit there shivering waitin for the rain to stop for what feels like quite a long time before i wake up.

any ideas on what it means?

Since the dream is recurring, there is something that you see as a threat to move on. Thunder, lightning and cold rain with you running blind to a safe place indicates perhaps that there is may be some danger to you or someone you know. You find a safe place but it is only temporary while you wait out the storm. This also could indicate what you are experiencing in real life, in that you are waiting to move forward at a time when you feel safe to do so. It smacks of some sort of indicision you are experiencing.

I hope this helps. Try to write down or record your dream the next time and pay attention to details. Often in recurring dreams, more information will be revealed each time the dream is dreamt. wink.gif

OK I've got one for interpretation, my partner never remembers his dreams but oddly remembered this one.......
waking on a well known road in the city we used to live in and comes across a traffic accident between a car and a motorbike, goes across to have a look at the bike/rider, the bike is a write off and no rider anywhere, then the car driver opens his boot to show all the body parts from the biker that he'd picked up and put in the boot, then he thinks the car driver said something about waiting for the ambulance to come and sort the biker out.......

It may be that your partner has experienced some unexpected change or upset lately. It is also possible that some confusing event has happened regarding a friend, possible a problem or fight with a friend. He or the friend may have experienced some financial problem or some recovery of an illness. Hope this helps rolleyes.gif

gypsimoon - thanks, I shall pass that on, see if it makes any sense smile.gif
