Hello all
I wondered if anyone had ever had a similar situation to me?
I had been to see some very good friends and we had been having a good chat, resulting in which, I went back to my basics. I felt wonderfully close to the Goddess that night.
The thing I did first was I called in the corners and put up my barriers. Well, I have never seen so much energy in the room and the lampshade started swaying. (This was before the galeforce winds, and that lamp never moves).
I was wondering if anyone else had found the same kind of phenomena happening to them during ritual?

Not as such though the flame of me tea light does tend to respond to the rythms of the ritual (no its not in a draft )
However when I first started out I used very little as props, but the more rituals I did and books I read I tried adding more and more each time. Thing is it just didn't work. I finally decided to scrap all the junk and just go back to basics and like you say it was a world of difference.

I frequently find that when I place food offerings to the loa on my altars some of them are "accepted" far more quickly than others - I take this as a sign that the spirits really fancy that particular foodstuff that day!
I place a tea light in each piece of food I offer. Invariably I find that a few burn down steadily in the normal manner, where all the wax liquifies, while others burn down very quickly, leaving a lot of wax behind. I also tend to find that on any given day, the level in some drink offerings will go down far more quickly than can be explained by normal evaporation while others are left more or less as they are.

that could be because of the day in it, i.e if its hot it'l probably go quicker than if its shitty winter

True enough Touchstone, but I just wish I could remember the last hot day we had around here.

Besides that wouldn't explain why one glass evaporates quickly and another, on the same altar, doesn't.
I imagine there's some kind of a scientific rule about liquids of a certain density evaporating more quickly than others but if there is, I don't know it so I couldn't say whether the things I've noticed follow it.

A few times when our group meets for rituals the extraordinary happens. It has been little things sometimes to quite dramatic wind surges at appropriate times in the ritual.
A couple of my favourite happenings have been a wind surge at the invitiation of the ancestors and a feather dropped next to me at the closing.

We tend to get the fire flaming up quite dramatically sometimes - generally whn a resolution or dedication is being made. Someone is listening and you'd better mean what you say at those times.

Nope nothing yet but that's cool.
I did something last night with my two main candles, the four elementals - in the form of Salt, Incense, Candle and Water. As I was doing my thang I spoke through it almost explaining what I was doing, it did make some difference I think but I have yet to experience different atmospheres and meeting the god and goddess. The cool thing was I forgot to tell my bf I was "meditating" and whilst I was doing stuff he decided to cook tea and walked in the bedroom just as I finished - timing or what?!

Not done huge amounts or ritutal so still early days for me, but still get some what blown away when I attempt anything.
However the results that my 11+ spell, worked with between my son and I were really rather remarkable. Came top of the class in 2 out of 3 practise tests at achool, one of those being his verbal reasoning which had been his weakest subject.
